It's a Beautiful Day!

I wrote this song as a reminder that every day can be a beautiful day if we choose to focus on the good and decide to make it beautiful. I like these quotes: "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives." (Russel M. Nelson) and "Happiness does not depend on what happens outside of you, but on what happens inside of you." (Harold B. Lee)

Life is Good!

I wrote this song to encourage anyone who is having a tough day. Sometimes nothing seems to go our way and everything goes wrong. It's in those times that it is important to remember that you still have a choice. You can choose to decide that life is good, no matter what -- even on the bad days. And just because your day started out bad it doesn't mean it has to stay that way. You have the strength inside to pick yourself up off the ground and turn the day around. A positive attitude makes all the difference.

Get Positive!

I wrote this song to encourage having a positive attitude. We've all experienced those bad days when nothing seems to go right. It's easy to focus on what's going wrong in our lives. But when we let negative thoughts fill our minds it can really bring us down and make it hard to see the good in our lives. But it's amazing how one positive thought can make a difference. You can’t have gloomy thoughts and positive thoughts at the same time. It just doesn’t work. So, it doesn’t matter how your day starts out or how bad your life might be. You don’t have to focus on the negative things. It is a choice you have to make to be positive and optimistic. You have to make a choice to see the glass half full. And when you make a choice to be positive it brings a positive energy that pushes away the darkness and the negative thoughts that you might have had before. So let’s be positive!

Just a Little Smile

It's amazing what a difference one little smile can make. It can make you feel better, improve your mood, help you be more positive, and even improve your health. And when you share a smile with others it can make a difference for them too. So, it's time to discover the power of a smile.

Look Around

We can make a difference in the lives of others if we look around for opportunities to serve. Thomas S. Monson said, "I pray that we may be aware of the needs of those around us . . . may we ever be ready to extend to them a helping hand and a loving heart." And Spencer W. Kimball said, "God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs." Serving someone else is also one of the best ways to feel better about ourselves and can help us pull ourselves out of depression. Gordon B. Hinckley said, "The best medicine for despair is service." And perhaps, the wisest counsel of all was given by King Benjamin who reminded us that "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17) Please visit www.justserve.org to find service opportunities wherever you live or wherever you go.

I Will Bloom Where I'm Planted

Life may not always go the way that we want it to, and we may not end up where we wanted to be, but we can still make the best of our situation and choose to be happy regardless of our circumstances. Just like the flower that grows in the crack in the sidewalk, we can bloom wherever we are planted and be the best we can be, no matter what.

A Little Thank You

One of the best ways to improve our attitude and outlook on life is to find something to be grateful for in every day and in every situation. It's important to say "thank you" and show appreciation every day for even the little things that others do. It's one of the best ways to strengthen our relationships with others.  Thomas S. Monson said, "We can lift ourselves and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude."
